The CCLI Mission

The Community College Leadership Initiative (CCLI) assists community colleges to successfully expand their workforce development capabilities and partnerships with school systems -- focused on the objective of developing a highly skilled and competitive workforce in the regions they serve.  

Overview

CCLI is facilitated by two nationally-recognized experts, Hans Meeder and Joan Athen, who assist each participating community colleges in strengthening its leadership position and impact.  We help colleges foster high value relationships with business and industry, school systems, economic development authorities, and community-based organizations.

The Initiative's Two Phases

Phase I:  The project team leads the College through an internal analysis of its resources and helps formulate a new or renewed mission to strengthen the college’s workforce services and school system partnerships.

Phase II:  The project team engages the College representatives with local public- and private-sector partners,  highlighting ways to continue building mutually-beneficial relationships focused on achieving the strategic priorities of a highly skilled and competitive regional workforce.
