Hans Meeder is former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Vocational and Adult Education in the U.S. Department of Education.  With over 20 years experience in education and workforce policy, he is an experienced public speaker, facilitator, and is well-versed in the key components of the Community College agenda, high school reform, career and technical education, and workforce development.  As President of Meeder Consulting Group, LLC (www.meederconsulting.com), Meeder works with organizations in facilitating group work around organizational planning, compliance with federal funding requirements, and designing data and accountability systems.

Joan Athen is the former Special Assistant for Community Colleges at the U.S. Department of Education, where she developed and implemented the outreach agenda for Community Colleges, created a Community College identity, and created and directed six national working groups and virtual summit with Community College presidents from around the nation.  Athen is a proven and successful entrepreneur and business leader in the telecommunications field, gender communication in the workplace and chambers of commerce.  In addition, she served as president of the board of trustees for Howard Community College (Maryland), chair of the Maryland Association for Community College Trustees and was actively involved in the work of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) and American Association of Community Colleges (AACC).
